Last year I wrote a very positive review of the new version of Hawaii Five O. I said at the time, that I was very impressed, especially in how the series was delving into the backgrounds of the principal characters, exploring the background of Danny Williams and Steve McGarrett was interesting in the beginning; however this has set a pattern for all episodes to follow.
Another annoying aspect of the new version is that there seems to be this ongoing battle of wills between Danny and Steve, with McGarrett as head of Five-O he doesn't need to take this constant berating by one of his team members, and in the real world he wouldn't, he would have fired Danno after the second time he tried to assert himself in such a manner.
The origanl Series with Jack Lord, James MacArthur Kim Fong and Zulu. Always for the most part had the team as just that, no internal battles of wills or disagreements.
Perhaps this is just a phase in the series, hopefully season two will be better structured, to where we get some of the more complex story telling involving the bad guys, with no last minute revelations to the audience as to who the bad guy is. Let's get the stories moving forward.
Oh and Book em Danno
